Finally put together

After 'camping' out for a week - we now have gorgeous wood floors and newly carpeted stairs! We are very happy with our choices and are thrilled with the look it gave the room. I am on the hunt for some new bedding - looking for linen colored or possibly linen duvet cover. Leaning towards linen colored since the real thing will be a nightmare with the dogs.

The stair carpet is Suva in Pennisula.

Getting ready to leave on Thursday for the much anticipated 'girls' trip to Tucson. I am counting down the hours and minutes for my flight at 6:00 AM. I won't be posting at all when I am gone, in fact I will be somewhat unplugged from technology most of the days I am down there. Plan on coming back relaxed and revived!

Daily Grind. Okay I was doing good Weds, Thurs, and Friday day - then we had Kirk's birthday party, where I brought in Larson's birthday cake. No telling how many points in a slice of cake. But I was doing good with the journaling up until the weekend. Now I am back on track with journaling. So for all of you Chipotle lovers out there, did you know that a burrito bowl is 23 points??? yikes. LOVE the carnitas burrito bowl.

9/11 Remembrance

Somehow with all of my other posts my Remembrance post was bumped! This year marked the seventh anniversary. While the sorrow and pain does not get easier, I believe we have come along way since that day.

We need to continue to remember those that lost their lives ...

And we need to support those that are continuing to fight for our FREEDOM...

This is the son of our good friends J & B. He has been on several tours of duty to Iraq.  Never hearing a complaint uttered from this young man. We don't say it enough - but thank you, thank you Nick for all that you do over there, all that you endure ... for us, for our country, for everything we stand to lose. We support you and every other soldier over there.  Our thoughts are with you!

Weight Watcher Wednesday

On Thursday! Sorry I am behind - this flooring remodel has me all out of whack. But yesterday I did go and weigh in I am up +.8 It could have been numerous things, maybe the elephant ear and the mound of thai noodles at the antique fair. I think it could have been worse if I hadn't been exercising.

Today I want to talk about eating breakfast. Something that I haven't been doing lately and can be a direct correlation as to why I haven't been losing one to two pounds a week. (let's put the elephant ear aside...) When I first started weight watchers I was great about breakfast. Either Kashi cereal or hard boiled egg and thomas muffin. After meeting with my nutritionist earlier in the year she recommended my breakfast smoothie:

• 2 heaping tablesppons of whole fat yogurt (i use Nancy's)
• Handful of berries (I use frozen blueberries)
• 1 to 3/4 scoop of Whey Protein Powder do no use Soy based (I use Designer Whey vanilla from Trader Joes)
• Dash of water
• 1 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (I use the organic one from Trader Joes)
• optional: 1 scoop of Greens First (I use this to get my daily veggies and fruit in, plus it helps my skin!)

Blend away and then stir in 1 teaspoon of Psyllium. Drink - don't let this sit. This fills me up and I really need to force myself to eat lunch. This is what I need to get back to and when I am traveling I need to do my Advocare shakes. So the plan this week is to drink the breakfast smoothie and journal!

End of Day Two - Flooring
This is what we all feel like at this point. Doggies are prisoner in my office only let out for bio breaks.

With the carpet done down stairs the guys have moved onto the wood floor upstairs. This is the updstairs landing:

The hardwood that we are using is from Shaw (of course) it is an engineered hardwood and it is called Grand Canyon. The website is not showing the color we chose - ours is very dark with almost a black stain to it.

It doesn't look like they will be done in time for Kirk's party - I am so glad that I had it off site this year! :) whew -

End of Day One - Flooring

We have new carpet downstairs and I must say that it looks GREAT! Since they discontinued the tile that we have in most of our downstairs we couldn't continue it in the TV/Family room. So I thought finding a carpet that was close in color would give it a more cohesive flow.
This is right after the installation and before I vacuumed:

After I moved the furniture back in the coloring in this phot is off - I tried fixing it but it made it worse. Above is a better color match.

Carpet is by Tuftex it is called These Dreams, color #378 Garden Path. The color on my walls has been there for about six years. It is a custom color I had mixed by Benjamin Moore - it is in this room, dining room and kitchen. Love it and no plans to change it! :) The furniture was a house warming gift to ourselves nine years ago - Pottery Barn Manhattan collection, natural water buffalo leather. I don't think they have this option anymore. But I am so glad that we picked this type of leather out, kids, dogs and adults can make scratches on it and it doesn't matter. It all blends in. Coffee table is from a local store called PS & Company. Those gals there are really helpful!

Busy week - no music Tuesday

We have so much going on this weekend - not sure if it's poor planning or we just needed to do these things right now. This is a long post with pictures...

But first let's just start with last weekend - both Kayce and I had a great time at the Come Play in Eugene event. This gal is the hostess with the MOST. Gorgeous house and just a welcoming spirit.

The next day we woke up before DAWN (it was dark out) and headed north to the Coburg Antique Fair. Both Kayce and I found some treasures and did a pretty good job filling up the Mini. Here's a picture of some of my finds...

Jack Weil will be missed.

Papa Jack Weil passed away today at the age of 107. I had the chance to meet him in July at the Rockmount shop in Denver. He continued to go to work every day and even had a lunch appointment the day I was there. We will miss you Papa Jack.

That's probably the result of growing up in the early 1900s and enduring the Depression. He was self-made and self-educated, and he had a strong code of ethics." Weight Watcher Wednesday -.5

- .5 for today! Which means I have reached my grace period for Lifetime (again). I didn't think it would take me this long but I am glad to be so close to the WW goal weight and I am again FREE. That is motivating enough for me. I also was pretty motivated today by the gorgeous weather to do a four mile walk along the river. My friend Suzanne and I took the dogs and soaked up some much needed sun.

In Stacy's Have More Fun class for the month of September we are working on a 30 days of September. A being present in the moment kind of album documentation. Each day there is a capture, collect and record prompt. Yesterday was record something that you would like to schedule into your life more often and a note about something you are doing regularly that brings you a sense of accomplishment. I would like to schedule more activity - not necessarily 'exercise' but  movement. There is no reason or excuse why I shouldn't move more, even if it's just for 20 minutes. I also want to get back on track with yoga five days a week.

Music Tuesday

For fun let's celebrate local music! Being that we are from Portland, Oregon and their new record was just released last week. I thought I would share with you our local music pick the Dandy Warhols.

For those of you who watch Myth Busters you may have heard this song. If you get a chance check out some of the Dandy Warhols on iTunes. Great local indie band that have gone out on their own label called Beat The World Records. Got give them the thumbs up for going out on their own!
