Hope everyone had a very MERRY Christmas and is looking forward to a wonderful New Year! Above is out Christmas photo for 2008. We receive a lot of emails wondering how we get out dogs to pose for photos in costumes. So I thought I should post the other shots of getting them ready. It's relatively easy, one important thing to note is that the two boys (Amos and Jesse) are trained. Jesse is a retired show dog and Amos is trained for Obedience. Selby on the other hand was our first and we didn't know what we were doing. So she is the only one that is difficult during photo shoots. Unless of course you have food...
Here Kirk is getting the hoods ready. Jesse is getting bored, that is him yawning. He is good for about 45 minutes. Anything after that he wants to move onto the next thing.
End result - one command: stay. I know Jesse looks sad but he is really a happy dog, he just has sad puppy eyes! Notice that Selby is missing from the picture - she is on what we call walkabout and no amount of commands will get her back. She will come on her own time. Of course if you have food and she can see it clearly she will come happily.
Enjoy your day after Christmas!
